Brand development for a new campaigns hub within the African Climate Foundation


The brief

The African Climate Foundation tasked Breinstorm Brand Architects (BBA) with developing a brand for their new entity, the New Economy Hub. The brand needed to support its mission to build a new decarbonised economy and a just society for South Africa. It needed to convey a sense of optimism and a positively-framed vision of the future.  

For the launch of the New Economy Hub at COP28, BBA developed a website, social media profiles and print collateral.


The transformation


An extension of the mother brand

While a separate entity, the New Economy Hub needed to feel related to the African Climate Foundation, which was achieved through the use of a similar, but extended, colour palette.


Illustrations to spotlight a vision for the future

An illustration style rooted in Afro-futurism was developed, emphasising the decarbonised economy the New Economy Hub hopes to see enacted in South Africa.


Movement for a movement brand

To enhance the brand’s spirit of action, and of driving the country forward, the brand mark was animated for digital applications to encourage a sense of engagement and energy.
